The European Voluntary Service
(EVS) is part of
the Youth Program, a European Union initiative
that promotes the mobility of young people through
international activities with a non-formal education
dimension, such as voluntary services, youth initiatives
and training of youth workers. It is hoped that
due to the intercultural experience it is built
on, an EVS project increases community values.
It is the goal of EVS
to promote local projects that are based on
commitment from both sides, forging trans-national
partnerships between youth organizations and
volunteers.
Since 2003,
The Language Experience (TLE) has
been coordinating one year long projects for
EVS volunteers from Spain & Ireland.
El European Voluntary
Service - EVS (Servicio de Voluntariado
de Europa) es parte del programa Youth, una
iniciativa de la Unión Europea que fomenta
la movilidad de la juventud por medio de actividades
internacionales relacionadas con la educación
informal. Es la esperanza de este programa que
la experiencia intercultural en la cual está
basado estimule los valores comunitarios.
La meta de EVS es promover proyectos locales
que estén basados en un compromiso de
los dos lados, creando asociaciones trans-nacionales
entre las organizaciones y los voluntarios.
Desde el 2003, The Language
Experience (TLE), ha coordinado programas
de un año para voluntarios de EVS de
España e Irlanda.
